Rasengan (螺旋丸, Literally meaning: Spiralling Sphere) is a jutsu where the user creates a ball of chakra and uses the speed of the chakra to grind into whatever it comes in contact with to inflict major damage.
Improvement[]
The Rasengan can be increased by making it bigger (as with the Big Ball Rasengan) or even gargantuan (as with the Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan).
The Rasengan can also be increase by combining it with the users own nature. Naruto combines his Rasengan with his wind-nature, creating the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Tailed Beast Influence[]
As the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails, Naruto can use its chakra when forming the Rasengan. While using a version 1 cloak, he makes a Rasengan without the need of a shadow clone to aid him, using the cloak itself to contain it.[1] Due to the influence of the Nine-Tails' chakra, this Rasengan is darker in colour and much stronger. In Naruto SD Powerful Shippūden, this technique is called the "Nine-Tails Rasengan" (九尾螺旋丸, Kyūbi Rasengan, Literally meaning: Nine-Tails Spiralling Sphere).
Trivia[]
- In many cases in the anime, Naruto has been shown to form his Rasengan with either one hand or both of his hands and has also been shown to throw his Rasengan even though he is unable to do so in the Naruto series.
- In Naruto: Shippūden, by the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Naruto is shown to be able to create his Rasengan with one hand, however, there is a time difference between the main series and the spin-off series, therefore Naruto has not master this ability yet in the spin-off.
