Itachi Uchiha (うちはイタチ, Uchiha Itachi) is a the elder brother of Sasuke Uchiha who hails from Konohagakure's famed Uchiha clan. He is currently a missing-nin and a member of the criminal organization Akatsuki who is partnered with Kisame Hoshigaki.
Appearance
Itachi Uchiha, like most of his clansmen, has straight jet black hair. His hair is over the shoulder in length and always seen in a low ponytail. Itachi has onyx eyes when his sharingan is not active. Itachi usually sports a stern look in his eyes. Like all other Akatsuki members, Itachi wore the Akatsuki black cloak, adorned with red clouds and a black body mesh with dark v-neck shirt underneath. He's usually seen with his left hand resting on an opening of his cloak around the chest area. He also wore the forehead protector with a horizontal line across the Konoha symbol to signifies his broken ties with the village. Itachi wears the Akatsuki ring with the kanji Vermilion (朱, shu) on his right ring finger. Other accessories that can be seen on Itachi are his necklace, which has three metal rings and dark purple nail polish.
Personality
Itachi has a very calm and composed personality that even persist in dangerous situation. He rarely shows any emotions so far in the series as he seems to incredibly master his emotions. He also possesses remarkable intelligence and wisdom way beyond his years. He always appears exceedingly sharp, observant, and intuitive.
Plot
Lee caught by a Sharingan Genjutsu
Itachi and Kisame appeared in chapter 16 of the manga when Lee and Tenten are infiltrating Akatsuki's hideout. He's one of the few Akatsuki member who are suspicious of Lee and Tenten's disguise. He puts Lee under a genjutsu to test his abilities, Tenten manages to undo the genjutsu to keep up the disguise. The Akatsuki break out into a massive riot that destorys the hideout and allows Lee and Tenten to escape. In the anime episode of these events, Itachi and the other members ganged up on Deidara after it is revealed Deidara knew Lee was a spy.
In chapter 21 of the Manga, Itachi was separated from Kisame and had happened upon Neji, Tenten, and Rock Lee. For reasons he did not explain, he was wearing a fox costume. He learned that Guy was missing as well as Kisame, (they were stuck together with a special sticky chakra created by a Gorilla that team Guy was hunting). Itachi agrees to help them find Guy and Kisame, which they eventually do as well as capture the Gorilla. Unfortunately the Gorilla had managed to escape from Team Guy, and Kisame and Itachi ended up stuck together.
In chapter 27 of the manga, the entire Akatsuki organization went on a summer vacation because Pain believed it could bestow unbelievable power. Itachi briefly watches a sand castle competition between Deidara and Sasori with Kisame. Itachi and Kisame were followed by Zetsu, who thought they were going to fight someone when they were actually trying to catch cicadas. Itachi and Kisame were later spied on by Zetsu when he thought they were going to duel. They were actually having a couple of Hercules Beetles fighting each other. Itachi later competed with the rest of Akatsuki in a game to see whose sparkler could stay lit the longest. Deidara got in a fight with Tobi during the competition causing the winner to be unclear. The Akatsuki decide to have a different kind of sparkler competition with their jutsu, destroying the beach. Itachi and the rest of Akatsuki noticed their skin had become darker and believed it was a sign of them becoming more powerful like Pain intended. They actually just got sunburned.
In episode 51, Akatsuki teamed up with Sasuke to destroy the Leaf Village. Sasuke implied Itachi was killed awhile back and his attempt to destroy the Leaf was revenge for Itachi.
Abilities
Itachi is often being referred to as the best of his generation and this praise is proven in both his tact and skills. He excels in Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu.
