Big Ball Rasengan (大玉螺旋丸, Ōdama Rasengan) is a larger version of the Rasengan. The Big Ball Rasengan has the same mechanics as the original Rasengan, however, the user only increases the amount of chakra when forming the ball. Due to the chakra being compressed to a higher density, the ball releases its energy immediately on contact, thus increasing its destructive power beyond the Rasengan's.

In Naruto SD Powerful Shippūden, Naruto is able to apply senjutsu chakra to his Big Ball Rasengan to create the Sage Art: Big Ball Rasengan (仙法・大玉螺旋丸, Senpō: Ōdama Rasengan). Naruto first uses a shadow clone to form the ball. Then have a shadow clone form a Big Ball Rasengan on both hands, which he can transfer onto his clones.
