Part 1: Boom! The Shinobi Fireworks Show![]

Team Guy is being talked to about the upcoming Firework show and the special event to take place during it. They want each ninja team to incorporate chakra and fire-style jutsu with firework making techniques. Shizune then demonstrates for them what she means to them. Guy believes that this will be a great challenge for Lee to overcome despite the huge disadvantage.

Come that night, the team sees everyone putting a lot of work into this. Lee suggests they pose while holding sparklers, but Tenten points out that something so simple would be too boring. So he then suggest straps a bunch of fireworks to his body instead, but Tenten is pretty sure he will just hurt himself. So finally, Lee suggests he'll turn himself into a human rocket and launch himself into the sky!

As they resume trying to think about it, Sakura comes over to greet them and Lee asks her what kind of fireworks she likes. But she doesn't really get to answer as Kakashi tells them to be careful when playing with such items. He also informs them that he is only there in case of emergencies. Sakura finally gets a chance to answer, saying that she actually prefers simple fireworks before she leaves the trio.

Unknown to them, Orochimaru was watching...

And soon the events begin! Team Seven, composed of Naruto and two clones go first. Team seven used a wind-style jutsu to make a giant windmill firework. All goes well until an accidental gust of wind sends Sakura's yukata upward, distracting Naruto and causing him to accidentally let go of the match he held, causing many explosives to go off! Next is Team eight. They managed to make a giant contraption due to the Hyuga's wealth. All goes well but Tenten is growing more and more worried. When Neji and Lee accidentally let go of the rocket suit Lee had, it bumps Naruto, causing him to bump into Hinata and ruining their display. Nobody seems too hurt, that is until Hinata's passion for Naruto accidentally causes the rest of the fireworks to go off!

Now it's Team Ten's turn. Shikamaru uses his Shadow Pull to give off a nice display of timed fireworks. Team Guy realizes they do not have much of a choice and they to think up something fast. But just then, Orochimaru reveals himself to them, along with a very giant black object, which is actually a giant black snake! Not too many people can stop Orochimaru, including Tenten and Neji, whom he both majorly offended...

Just as he prepares to light the giant black snake, Lee realizes he needs to wake Kakashi to use his water techniques. Sakura lights Lee's outfit and he flies around until making contact with Kakashi. He informs them of what they need and quickly Kakashi handles it... unfortunately, due to Orochimaru's interruption, the fireworks show as stopped. Lee feels saddened since he couldn't really wow the audience with his amazing fireworks and Sakura mentions that she would have liked to have seen what he was going to come up with. Lee then remembers he had a couple still on hand and reveals the sparklers to her. When one of the sparklers is almost finished however, a single spark from it lands on the second fuse attached to Lee's outfit, causing him to fly around all over the sky! As Sakura watches, the narrator tells everyone to use fireworks safely...

Part 2: Bang! Tenten's Acting Weird[]

One boring, late summer day, Lee and Neji are making conversation as Tenten watches them goof around. They

Sigh

begin to notice she's acting weirdly after she doesn't say anything and then walks away from them without so much as a goodbye. They noticed over the course of days she continues to act weirdly and they finally sit down to discuss what could possibly be wrong with her. Neji seems more concerned that with her acting like this, they'll surely lose their straight man!

This inspires Lee and he gets a plan to snap Tenten out of this. They resume training later that day but stop after complaining about the heat. A small skit ensues and they wait for Tenten to snap at any moment to tell them how they messed up, but she doesn't. So Lee tries another skit, but with the same results. Tenten will not tell them what the problem is...

It's then Naruto comes by and they explain the problem to him. As they inform them that she's been this way since the fireworks show, Naruto thinks maybe she wanted to light more fireworks. Tenten seems to consider it, but then lights their rocket suits and they go off flying as she walks away from them. As they try to rethink of any other ideas, Choji comes over and they are inspired to try to give Tenten a chocolate banana. So Lee and Neji quickly get Tenten together a special chocolate fountain with many different types of sweet treats. Lee also shows her the rice and spaghetti dish he put together for high-quality carbs. Lee is oblivious but Neji notices her discomfort a second time now. Tenten then shoves the dish of food on Lee's head and in his mouth before storming off again...

All of the guys have gave up at this point, though Choji suggest they go and ask Shikamaru, since he's the smartest of them all. So they go to Shikamaru, who insults them before revealing his own theory: Tenten is in love! At first, they find this shocking but they go over the hints previously, causing Lee to fear he may know who Tenten is in love with. Quickly they run away from the others to go and help Tenten, now that they know what to do.

Meanwhile, Tenten is off by herself staring out at the ocean before her while the sun is setting. Tsunade notices her and approaches the young girl to ask her why she seems so down. Tenten then reveals why she's been so gloomy lately: it's because Orochimaru called her the president of punchlines! Tsunade finds the situation a bit... ridiculous, but Tenten explains that ever since the firework show everyone has been teasing her. Tenten begins to wonder if maybe making punchlines is all she does. But she can't help it, everybody else just makes it too easy for her. She doesn't really enjoy doing it, and now it's making her worried about what she's been doing with her life. Tsunade takes a moment before telling Tenten she thinks she is fine the way she is. Lee and Neji were worried sick about her. Tsunade also thinks Tenten's reactions are what happens to make everyone so lively.

It's then Lee and Neji show up. Tenten apologizes for making them worry about her, but Lee thinks they need to apologize. He reveals that they think she was worried regarding a romance she had, and he also points out the signs. Tenten is highly confused and Neji continues on, saying that given who Orochimaru is, they don't blame her for being so upset. So they went to go and see him and even told Orochimaru about her crush, totally unaware of how angry Tenten is becoming now until she snaps and begins to beat them up as the episode ends...
